Luke Cage Episode 4 Podcast “Step In The Arena” Spoiler filled Synopsis

Written by Charles Murray

Directed by Vincenzo Natali

As Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Connie Lin (Jade Wu) are trapped in the rubble of the collapsed building Luke recalls his earlier life and the origin of his super strength and powers. Originally known as Carl Lucas, a former law enforcement officer, he is sent to Seagate Prison a private prison facility for a crime of pride, power or pussy. Closed down and angry, Lucas begins to open up to Squabbles (Craig muMs Grant), another inmate, and the psychiatrist, Dr Reva Connors (Parisa Fitz-Henley), who runs the inmate anger management programme. Seagate, however, is not all it appears to be and a Prison Guard named Albert Rackham (Chance Kelly) forces Carl to become part of an illegal underground gladiatorial fight scene. Lucas attempts to rebel against Rackham with the help of Reva and Squabbles. But after finding out Carl’s plan Rackham has Squabbles killed and sends inmates Shades (Theo Rossi) and Comanche (Thomas Q. Jones) to beat him down. Suffering fatal injuries Reva begs prison Dr Noah Berstein (Michael Kostroff) to use an untested medical experiment on Carl Lucas to help him recover. However, the experimental treatment is sabotaged by Rackham, but in doing so the procedure confers powers and abilities on to Carl Lucas. With cuffs and a tiara Lucas escapes from Seagate and meets up with Reva who alters his records and he renames himself Luke Cage. Back in New York under the rubble Luke Cage helps Connie to safety and in doing so becomes a local hero.
