We are delighted that two of our hosts, John and Derek, will be returning to New York city for the biggest comic and TV convention in the USA New York Comic Con 2015. The four day event runs from Thursday the 7th to Sunday the 10th of October in the Javitts Convention Centre. The annual event is 10 years old this year and attracted over 150,000 attendees in 2014 over 20,000 more than San Diego Comic Con which caps attendance at 130,000. There are many many events, signings, screenings, games and comic book announcements to keep those of us going to the event excited over the four days. But first here are our New York Comic Con 2015 must see Marvel events.
- LEGO Marvel’s Avengers: Meet the Talent Behind the Videogame – TT Games
- We’re huge fans of the Lego Marvel games, an in-depth fun look at the Marvel universe the brand new game from TT games will be on show at New York Comic Con at a panel which will reveal more playable characters on the roster. LEGO Marvel’s Avengers will cover both of the smash hit films Marvel’s Avengers Assemble and Marvel’s Avengers Age of Ultron. Last year’s panel presented by KindaFunny.com host Greg Miller was a hilarious chat about LEGO Batman 3 we have high hopes for this year.
- Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter Fan Meet-up
- A chance for fans of the Marvel TV Shows Agent Carter and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D to meet up before the Marvel TV Panels. We hope to see tonnes (tons) of Peggy Carter, Daisy Johnson and Agent Phil Coulson cosplay. Cosplay photo courtesy of TheMarvelReport.com
- Marvel Television Presents: Agents of Primetime with Agents of SHIELD Season 3 preview and Agent Carter Season 2 preview.
- Marvel’s Head of TV Jeph Loeb returns to New York Comic Con to premiere a full episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before it airs anywhere else. He will also discuss what’s coming for the return of Peggy and Jarvis in Season 2 of Agent Carter. Last year we saw our first footage of the Agent Carter TV show four months before it aired anywhere else and had a special guest appearance from Agent Coulson himself Clark Gregg so we’re hoping for some great reveals here.
- Daredevil Fan Meet-up
- Following the hugely successful first season of Daredevil on Netflix we expect there to be a huge amount of Wesley, Wilson Fisk, Foggy Nelson and Matt Murdock cos-players at this fan meet up ahead of the official panel.
- The Netflix Original Series Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Marvel’s Daredevil
- Another one of the most anticipated panels at New York Comic Con this year where we expect to see the first footage of Marvel’s Jessica Jones due to premiere on Netflix on November 20th. There will also be a full cast panel featuring Kristen Ritter, it is rumoured we’ll also get a special appearance by David Tennant who plays Kilgrave on the show. There will also be discussions about the highly successful Netflix show Daredevil which will return with Season 2 in 2016.

- Defenders TV Podcast Meet up at Tír Na Nóg on 39th Street – from 8pm

In 2014 George Clooney showed up at the Tomorrowland panel while on his honeymoon to give an apology to Batman fans for “killing the franchise”. There are rumours that there will be a special sneak peek at the upcoming Batman V Superman at this years event thanks to a comment by a leading Warner Brothers executive. Only time will tell but watch this space.
