In our first visit to New York Comic Con as Defenders we got the opportunity to check out the Marvel Netflix cast and creator panels for Jessica Jones and Daredevil Season 2, this included, as a huge surprise for the audience, the first airing of the pilot episode of Marvels Jessica Jones that will be released (with the other 12 episodes) on the 20th November 2015. In this podcast we discuss our spoiler free impressions of the episode and tone of the show.
We also announce our brand new competition to win some of the sweet Marvel related swag that we picked up at New York Comic Con, including the exclusive Jessica Jones Poster art, the Daredevil poster art, a hard copy of the Jessica Jones prequel comic by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos, and the double sided Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3 and Agent Carter Season 2 poster all exclusively available at New York Comic Con. The Daredevil panel gave us a look at a great sizzle reel that recapped Season 1 of Daredevil and gave us a peek at Season 2 that introduced Elektra Natchios (Played by Elodie Yung) and Frank Castle (aka The Punisher played by Jon Bernthal) to Hell’s Kitchen. The full cast and show runners of both Daredevil and Jessica Jones were in attendance at one of our favourite panels from this years New York Comic Con. Hosted by Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Head of TV) and Agent Coulson himself, Clark Gregg, we also got to catch up with Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter. The panel audience were treated to an advanced screening of Episode 3 “A Wanted (Inhu)Man” from Season 3 of Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D. and we were given a chance to indulge in the humour of the Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter) and James D’Arcyy (Edwin Jarvis) live (or not so live) from Hollywood and get a look at a scene from Agent Carter Season 2.
Finally, we also checked out the LEGO Marvel’s Avengers panel that took a look at the new upcoming LEGO game set for release in January 2016. As you would expect it involved tonnes of clips, loads of in-game Easter eggs and great fun at this panel that mixed up TT Game’s respect of the films with their cheeky slap-stick style.
