Luke Cage Episode 6 Review Podcast “Suckas Need Bodyguard” Spoiler filled Synopsis

Written by Sam Miller

Directed by Nathan Louis Jackson

With the Crispus Attucks incident covered-up Mariah Dillard (Alfre Woodard) prepares to reignite her election trail with an interview with the media. On the other side of Harlem by the docks her cousin Cornell Stokes (Mahershala Ali) is preparing to exchange guns from Rafael Scarfe (Frank Whaley) to buy off Domingo Colon (Jacob Vargas) so he can purchase the “Judas bullet” to take Luke Cage (Mike Colter) down!

However, Scarfe attempts to leverage Stokes but his plan backfires and he is left critically wounded on the streets of Harlem by Cottonmouth. He is hunted by Stokes and by the NYPD as his dirty past begins to creep up on him. On the run Scarfe seeks refuge at Pop’s Barber Shop and help from Luke Cage as he realises his enemy’s enemy is his friend and only chance at redemption. In his delirious state, having bullets removed by Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson), Scarfe tells Cage of his involvement in the murder of Chico (Brian ‘Sene’ Marc) and points him to where he can find his notebook with incriminating evidence on Stokes and his police payroll.

As Cage and Temple, with a deteriorating Scarfe, race to One Police Plaza to turn over the evidence and get Scarfe to surgery they are ambushed by mercenaries hired by Stokes. As Misty Knight (Simone Missick) arrives, after uncovering the involvement of Lieutenant Perez (Manny Perez) with Stokes, her partner Rafael Scarfe dies from his injuries. The fall out from Scarfe’s notebook is total as Cottonmouth is arrested and his empire crumbles, his cousin Mariah’s interview didn’t go as planned as her possible involvement in Stokes’ actions is revealed her reputation lies in ruins.
