In three separate locations across New York three mysterious fighters prepare for a challenge… “The time has come”! At Rand Enterprises the pressures of work, his father, his addiction and “Monastery Boy” begin to tell on Ward Meachum (Tom Pelphrey). A message left by The Hand for Danny Rand (Finn Jones) in a Rand shipping container, as he and Ward search for the daughter of Rodovan Bernavig (Olek Krupa), escalates Ward’s drug addiction to the shock of his sister Joy Meachum (Jessica Stroup); and sets Danny on a course of action…“The time has come”! Three challengers – the Veznikov Brothers (Nikita Bogolyubov and Stan Demidoff), the Bride of the Nine Spiders (Jane Kim) and Scythe (David Sakurai) – have been called for a Grand Duel by The Hand with the Immortal Iron Fist. Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho) and Danny agree their terms: If Danny wins The Hand must leave Rand Enterprises and release Radovan’s daughter, Sabrina (Alessia Sushko). If Danny loses he must leave The Hand alone and interfere no longer in their affairs. As the Duels begin Danny is aided by memories of his mentor from K’un Lun – Lei Kung (Hoon Lee). But as he is close to victory Gao threatens to kill Sabrina until he stand down from killing the third and final challenger. In doing so Gao releases Sabrina but also reveals her knowledge of K’un Lun and Danny’s father – Wendell Rand – before showing Danny a glimpse of her own power. However, Danny’s efforts may all be for nought as Radovan’s condition worsens and his urgent trip to hospital does not go as planned.
